Sushi ginger. Pickled ginger. Tangy, tart, and acidic. This has been my breakfast for the past five days. The only thing that settles my stomach and keeps me going for nearly a week now.
I don’t know if I have the flu. When you’re only sort of sick, it’s easy to convince yourself that you’re not sick. It was something I ate, I’ve thought more than a few times. Process of elimination as my husband also hasn’t been a 100%. Bananas. The only thing that I had on Monday that made me feel extremely nauseous and the thing he had this morning that did a number on his stomach was bananas. So, probably not something I’ve/we’ve eaten.
And my lymph nodes are swollen and tender. But being just a little sick…
So, pickled ginger for breakfast. Four-ish rice cakes. Sometimes chicken noodle soup. Sometimes thyme-infused carrot and fennel soup. Once a chicken and blackberry sandwich on sour dough bread. More than a couple three goat cheese, blackberry, arugula, and balsamic, blackberry reduction flat breads.
So this illness diet has been interesting. And it’s the reason why I didn’t post a soup recipe on Wednesday. But feeling a bit better now, so up next. Another soup recipe for Soup Month.
